Off Ice Training
At A Plus Hockey Camp our Off Ice sessions will consist of the most up to date Workout Program’s to increase players On Ice Performance based on Scientific proven data! Our team’s mission is to develop and deliver the skills as follows:
Flexibility – If you do not have mobility in the front of your hips you expend extra energy with every stride.
Stability – This will relate to hip, knee, and shoulder stability as well as core stability. This type of “functional” stabilization is why some hockey players battle in the corners and along the boards more successfully than others.
Strength – Developing and building strength (the amount of force you can exert) which is the easiest and most effective way to improve your speed.
Speed – Once you have increased your strength, practice applying that force as quickly as possible. This is what determines power, which translates into more speed.
Stamina – No one wants to be flying around the ice in the first period and then fighting fatigue for the rest of the game. This is where stamina comes in. Players still think doing a 5-mile run will build their stamina for hockey. When was the last time you had a 40-minute shift on the ice? Hockey players at camp will “train like a champion” using the style of High Intensity Interval Training which is proven to be the most effective style for hockey players performance.
